Riots in the UK about tuition fee increases - an observation

It feels like some people in europe just like a good riot.

You know what happens when tuition fees and stuff like that happens in the US?   A walkout.   Everyone in the school just leaves the school in protest and does something else... or at best holds up a few signs and walks away.

I blame football (soccer).. Does the US even have Hooligans?

There will be the occasional riot when a team wins a world championship, but that's about it in the other sports... and we don't usually see much protetst wise (outside huge events like race riots.)

One reason I think is because generally the US turns pretty harshly on protestors who do start breaking shit.  Also, our police carry guns. 

So...

I could never see an angry gang of hooligans like attacking a group of police because of this.
