Worst than convertion rates are tax... in Brazil a official retailer sell ps3 for 1200 reais (705 dolars - exchange rate of 1.7 -), but importation tax of 100% (300 to 600) and shipping revenue...
Our minimun wage is 300 dolars... so you can see it's real expensive a console in Brazil (at launch PS3 costed up to 3000~3500 dolars -> 6000 reais at the time).
