Being intelligent or not doesn't define your stance on religious belief. There isn't plausible evidence for such an entity to exist and much as there isn't plausible evidence in the contrary as well.
Looking down at religious people is just as bad as religious people looking down on non-believers, since everyone has their stance and their personal beliefs.
I'm my case I strongly believe in two things: Science and the Rede, both which are mutable and ever-changing as none of those two things define by a 100% certainty margin the truth behind the existence of every thing in the physical world.
This is the belief that allows me to be, at the same time, a geneticist and a wiccan. Both are a process of constant learning and personal evolution.
