You have to know when to shoot in rythm, when to allow for full reset and when you can shoot at an accelerated pace.
Spamming the trigger will only frustrate you and lead no where. If your going to shoot at an accelerated pace always aim for the center of mass so as to encompass most of your bloom in their body then allow for a decent reset before taking the final head shot.
I've played long enough to know exactly how to control the bloom in any given situation and even then I make mistakes because its so hard to aim and time while you're under fire. If you feel like your getting out shot try to use cover to peak shot your opponents, allowing your bloom to reset every time you slide behind cover. It is human nature to panic as you see your health diminish and try to shoot faster, keep your cool and if you feel like your going to lose the DMR fight always have an escape path open to you.
This is not MW where you can just aim in their general direction pull the trigger and get a kill. I can't tell you how many times I've been shot from behind, turned around at landed 5 perfect shots while the kid spams and squanders his advantage over me.
