By most people's definitions, that would make me an atheist.
We keep finding more and more scientific evidence to explain things we couldn't before and I think we will keep finding more scientific evidence.
I do get tired of people saying that atheists can't have any morals or virtues. What ever happened to the idea that we would do to others what we would want done to us. It doesn't require believing that there is something watching you to know that stealing, killing, etc. is wrong. |
There actually are a number of religions that maintain God does not intervene. The reasoning is that God would not intervene because if He intervened, He would be acknowledging that His creation was not perfect. To put simply, there is no need to intervene in a universe that is already perfect. Any change would just make the universe less perfect.
