So is a plague of laziness responsible for the unemployment numbers?

Anyone want to argue there are so many unemployed people, because they are lazy and aren't trying hard enough to find work?  The article is going into how unemployment is remaining at historically high levels, even as the economy is supposed to be out of the recession now.
