Advice on noise cancelling headphones

Pretty good (or at least mine, audio-technica QuietPoint ATH-ANC7, are), peopel come into my office and start talking to me and I don't even notice unless I happen to see them walk in.

I want to save myself from a family member who likes to yell from another room. That way I can quickly put on my headphones and say I didn't hear them!
