it's a bit unfair to rate the game based on expectation. Because of the long development, the expectation just got unrealisticly high. if Gt5 were released two years earlier, the review would be completely different. Ps3 has its limitation and it does not do everything. 1080p@60fp output is a huge achievement. With at most 16 cars on track with dynamic lighting, it way too demanding for PS3. If it's on PC, i'm sure it would be much better. so you can't solely blame the developers ability on graphics.
it's also unfair to compare with previous iterations in terms of market dominence. You know, before this gen, there isn't much of a competition on consoles. i'm glad that gt5 can still entertain me like previous iterations.
Overall, it's a good and honest review. I like it.
