Sony - Dead nation yay/nay - View Post

My first impression is nay, though I'll give it another go later.

It plays well enough, though even though I have the SMG pretty far upgraded it's pretty worthless and runs out of ammo too quickly.

That isn't what makes me say nay though, I say nay because I can't see what the fuck I'm doing.

It's one thing to make a dark creepy game with audio cues to alert you, but I'll be walking and then all of a sudden a zombie is slashing at me.  Since it's a top down game there are no real audio cues (since there's almost always a zombie somewhere making noise) and it's so dark you can only see in the small area where your flashlight shines.

After playing it some more I like it even more. It becomes more difficult, which is better, you have to figure out which weapons to use where, manage your amo, when to shot cars to distract or blow up, etc. Zombies do tend to creep up on you, so swing that flashlight around often, and stay in well lit areas so you can see them coming. Once you get your shooting technique down it becomes more fun and easier, it never get's old mowing down hordes of zombies. Some tips...vending machines give health if kicked, distract if shot. I upgraded the rifle and shot gun early. Jumpers die easily with rifle shots, when they jump get out of there landing zone quickly. Stomp on health if you don't need it, it will give you cash. Check car trunks for cash. Open chests when gold for cash, red for multiplier. Blue chests give amo. It's a great game, can't wait to play some more.
