Its because Sony has failed at being a competitor in many respects in online. How many years now have people been waiting for cross game voice chat?!

And that is mostly because PSN and firmware updates are upkept by SCEJ. I really wonder why. Should be work of SCEA or SCEE as Japan doesn't really care about online gaming (at least yet).
