As we know, Sony has made 4 SKUs throughout 2007. It may have diversified the choice for consumers, but it left them puzzled and confused on which model to choose. Now, if Sony had just not included BluRay this would have all been fixed!

Fixed!

twesterm, seriouly can you get any dumber than that! Blu ray is already proven to be a necessity, look at killzone first stage, 2 FREAKIN and id software new game first stage, 5 !&%$# GIG! And MGS4, the whole dual layer blu ray. Another thing PS1 CD-700mb > PS2 DVD-4.7gig(that a 7 times increase storage),PS2 DVD-4.7gig > PS3-50gig (that a 10 storage increase) Ninty has been doing that to every consoles too. Every generation need to upgrade, not just graphics, ram, cpu etc but storage too. Now let look at xbox vs xbox 360, xbox 9gig > xbox 360 9gig, that a zero storage increase, which is not is not a generation increase. Microsoft is the only console manufacture that did not increase storage space generation after generation. Sony did the right move, but I know it cost alot for a blu ray drive, but hey! they have a future proven console. (it has always cost alot everytime it jump to next generation) I can go on about it more but why not you guys do a bit of research yourself and hope that you can learn to stop bashing and hating some company for doing the right thing like, "Why did Sony include blu ray, maybe I should google it and see if it benefit us gamers". Thanks for reading and have a nice day

Because we all know that size matters, but the way, how has Lair and Heavenly Sword done?

It's nice to have all that room but it's also nice to sell consoles. One of the biggest gripes about the PS3 is its insane price. People didn't want to pay $600 for a toy so the console did pretty bad in the beginning of the life cycle. They lowered the price again and while there was a small spike, the console still did bad. Finally after another price drop and the holidays the console is finally starting to do decently.

If Sony hadn't put BluRay in their console they could have started at a much lower price. If they started at the much lower price, more people would have bought the console. If more people would have bought the console then we would see more PS3 games and games staying exclusives. I guarantee that if Sony had started at $399 they would be in a much different place than they are today.
