I didnt watch it, as i'm so busy, and i have to do work, but Sony are launching their own phone/game device, so that could be a good response. but iphone has established itself, and i think Sony will have to work hard to have any success against them.
i think that backward compability - downloading PS1, and PSP, maybe PS2 (if its possible), could help sony, not to mention movies (sony pictures) and of course music, where sony has powerful assets for this type of multimedia device, so they could make it work, you never know!!
