I hate to admit it, but technically, the iPhone is way more powerful. It has a combined CPU plus GPU at 1GHz and 512MB RAM. In comparison, the PSP has a 333 MHz CPU and 64MB RAM.

PSP games are made with 32MB of ram in mind, though (the system didn't get 64MB of ram until the 2000[first slim]). The advantage that later models got from this was running the OS better and being able to cache some of the game in the extra ram to reduce loading times. All PSP games still run on the 1000 model just fine, though.
