To the wet blankets, yes... anyone familiar with physics games knows that this is nothing new. Most Kinect hacks aren't really that original on their own. What makes it cool is that you're using just your hands. Anyone who's ever pretended to be a Jedi and move and affect objects with a wave of their hand would think this is cool.
