The only numbers I have heard from microsoft (and I read A LOT of game news) is the 5 million sold by the end of the year goal.  Of which they revised up from 3 million.

Also, there is no way in hell microsoft would talk about kinect as multiple cameras.

yeah, that makes sense because it isn't microsoft taking about that figure, but the people supplying the cameras to microsoft.  They are talking about how many cameras they have shipped to microsoft.  like i said, I don't think you would ever actually see microsoft talking about their numbers like that, which is what you originally implied.
