Interesting. I felt like the review spent a lot of time talking about the faults. If I had to guess at the score after hearing/watching it I would have guessed mid to low 8's.

They come to basically the same conslusion as every reviewer that put the game in the 8.0-8.9 range, but on balance they obviously through the positives outweighed the negatives by a wide enough margin to sneak it into the 9's.

A good review, and I tend to agree that Game Trailers generally do a good job with their reviews.

Odd that they say there's no mechanical/performance consequences to damage. I'm still confused about this. Is there or is there not mechanical/performance damage in this game?

Those shots of std models do look pretty lame, and really don't belong on PS3. A mistake going for quantity over total model quality? I think so. Should have started the game with 600 better modeled cars and then released more high quality models as DLC. Buy 50 car models for just a few bucks.

Their is a patch for mechanical damage being released later this month. It hasn't been confirmed if its for all cars. I have had a standard civic get paint damage but the damage does seem inconsistant. Somthing that Kaz has tweeted saying will be fixed with patches.
