Also the FairTax completely untaxes the poor. They get a monthly prebate based on the number of people in the household. The prebate is a pre-refund of taxes collected up to the poverty level. A single person would get about $192. A Married couple would get double that. Children are also counted in the amount received in the Prebate. So the Poor would not be taxed at all under the FairTax.
