Point 1) how will that hurt democracy and freedom? I consider it a good thing if countries share less information. For example, I definitely don't want European governments sharing personal banking data with the US, as was being proposed a while ago. (for "counter-terrorism" purposes. the US is going crazy with counter-terrorism, see the ongoing TSA crap)

Point 2) So you're saying that either there are no leaks or if there are (as is now happening), there won't be any more leaks due to layers of secrecy? So in what way do these leaks harm anything if the consequence is exactly the same?
