the Japanese know how to appreciate a good platform when they see it. PSP dead my ass!! fight PSP, fight for those of us who WANT to play console quality games on the go. and not some touch screen crap my nephew can beat, fight for those of us who want a little bit more than Mario to play!!! I have DS/Ipod but prefer PSP if you couldnt tell

Honestly I don't think that buying 1 console for just 1 game is a good sign of "appreciate" it happened with the Gameboy during he early days of Pokemon and now with the PSP with monster hunter.

I mean, the PSP regularly outsells the DS there. IT has a crap ton of good games, presently and to be released later.

That's not fair, DS has the triple the userbase (with the same number of models) and a sucessor (retrocompatible) in less than 3 months. The PSP is sucessful in Japan, but comparing it to DS just in the last months is unfair, it outsold the DS for some months but for the most time it was an absolute dominance of DS.
Still, Japanese PSP gamers got very big releases, and this could very likely happen in the future. For Monster Hunter it is difficult to speculate about its next portable iteration though.

I know its not fair. His implication that the PSP "haz no gaemz" is also unfair on top of mental at this point. The PSP has more than enough great games that merit a purchase, and Monster Hunter is not the only reason why the thing sells.
