North Korea and North Vietnam in Korean War and Vietnam Wars were proxy wars between US and China/Russia.
China is supporting North Koreans. Red Communist link is still there. The average person would not be able to tell the difference between a North Korean or a Chinese person unless you checked their passports and documentation.
North Korea versus South Korea was a proxy China versus US War.
