I mean, everything he was hated for at the time, was the exact opposite of every reason people hated Bush Junior.

Well for one, he threw us into a massive debt hole that we're struggling as a country to get out of.

If Bush or Palin get elected, God help the world.

George HW Bush?  Not really.

He increased the national debt by like... 1.2 trilliion, and was moving to shrink that number should he be elected to a second term. 

For a comparison, clinton increased the national debt to like 800 Billion his first term... and during his second term surpassed the Bush increase in national debt.   (Clinton had a projected budget surplus.  He never actually used it.)

 

HW Bush was FAR closer to Clinton then he was Reagan, Bush or Obama.

He raised taxes specifically to fight the deficit.
