So Uncharted 2 looks better than it actually looks?

Uncharted 2 is actually still technically one of the most impressive games out there. Great lighting, picture quality and animation in addition to great acting performances, art direction, art polish, etc.

A cartoonish look is good art direction for various game gernes, but not technically demanding. A Mario style game is better suited with cartoon style graphics with a lack of details and simplified gaming world, but that's not demanding technically for modern day standards.

Other games such as racing sims or horror games are far more effective with realistic graphics, such games I grearly prefer to play in stereoscopic 3D with a good surround audio setup, adding greatly to creating an immersive atmosphere. For games such as Mario Kart, Pacman, Zelda, etc IMO this isn't that important.
