They put he HDMI out so you can throw it onto projectors or TVs.

HDMI Input laptops arent that cheap. (last time i checked)

they are now, you can get an laptop with HDMI pretty cheap but no point really and would pay the more to turn it into an gaming laptop and enlarge it on an screen
