Which PC games are you referring to?

 

Although I of course agree the more main memory the better, I also think more storage capacity (Blu-Ray is in every PS3 but not in most gaming PCs) and memory transfer speeds are of similar importance. The more and the faster you can stream graphics data reduces the need for extra memory to achieve higher goals.

 

For example past gaming PCs had tons of memory requirements compared to Amigas or the NeoGeo, but games usually looked horendous in comparison during the 80s and early 90s.
