It's a racing game. There isn't a "story mode" or any "characters" that you can talk about and/or critisize. There is only gameplay, content, and graphics. Cars are all about being flashy (especially luxury cars) and a game like GT tries simulating that as much as possible. I think graphics are very important in a game like GT5.
That being said, GT5 has amazing graphics. I don't know what some people are complaining about.
