Heck 1 and 2 should also be the disapointments fo the generation. Both games had excessive dev time, huge delays, promissed enormously and failed to deliver on this.
Both are still decent games, but not the master piece that they ought to have been. Heck any talented dev could have made 2-3 great game in that time span...
Good thing there were nice surprises like Uncharted for PS3 owners, otherwise this gen would really have been the end of sony.

What has GT5 promised that it hasn't delivered on? We knew before hand that it wouldn't be able to hold 60fps at all times, Yamuchi himself said it.

GT is suposed to be graphical perfection as well as authentic driving. The graphical perfection is far from there (screen tearing, fps drops...) and talks about a patch for a game 5 years in the making is laughable. Had it released in 2008 i'd understand... but there, no it's a failure to deliver.
The delays for this game increased what it had to deliver tremendously because the reason was not "we're late", it was "we're perfecting it" or "we could release it at any time".

SO?????? kinect was taunted as the revolution of motion gaming with SO MUCH HYPE yet its on that list.
I dare you to say it failed to deliver.

I never thought kinnect was a revolution, but I did assume that GT5 would be above par. I believe both move and kinect should not be on the list as they are about the content and so far they don't have much to really test them, they are in the early wii sports phase without being first. MS and Sony did fail to deliver the software though.
