Clearly Move would be superior input device for a lightsaber, and with the navi probably better for having greater freedom of movement.

Kinect would be better for Force gesutures, natuarlly, although with the Eye Move could do an okay if not so good job here.

So, yes, Move would be better for Star Wars but he was a bit emotional and needlessly hostile.

Naturally better with Kinect maybe, but not a great deal better IMO. I think "hold down "T" and thrust hand forward" would do a very effective Force push. "Hold down 'T' and 'Move button' button with Move upright' would do a very nice Force throat grab, then thrust Move in any direction and release T and Move button for a good old fashioned Force throw. Also hold down 'Move button' and slowly wave move from left to right would do a good jedi mind contol hand wave . You have seen the fireball throwing demo this guy has done with Move right?

Isn't it the case that Kinect can't reliably recognise fine motor gestures (finger movements and positions), so using the Move controller to do force gestures would be pretty much as good.

Perhaps the young lad is venting a bit of frustration that Sony don't have a light saber game yet?

We already know sword fighting can be done very satisfactorily with Move (Sports Champions) so there's certainly no technical reason why Move couldn't have a very satisfying Star Wars light saber game. And I'm sure an overall more satisfying game at that.

I think Kinect would be a bit better purely for Force stuff because you could actually push forward with a raised hand, giving a nice sense of pushing.  However, I think this would only be marginally better than Move either using Eye to register a hand movement (which it can do) or more likely a button press (which it can also do).

All round I would argue Move is clearly better suited to this type of game.  This isn't a knock on Kinect, but you don't have to be Einstein to judge holding a Move Wand (or Wii mote for that matter) and using it to move a sword is going to be better than holding air and relying on software to interpret your gestures.

I think BTW you've hit the nail on the head.  His emotion to me sounds like frustration MS has negotiated for Kinect support rather than Sony - or he's just accidently outed some Move lightsaber action and is annoyed Kinect Star Wars title is getting the attention at the moment.

Or he was just having a bad temper day.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
