Right now, I'm trying the Nascar challenges and it's kicking my ass not the other way around. If this had been any other game, I would be stuck here with no other means of progresstion. But now I can set that aside and try my hands at the FR challenge cup or the Rally Championship to name but two of the possibilities open to me right now. I agree the turnaround time of 5yrs is stellar, but the amount of content is this when you compare to say...Final Fantasy 13 is incompariable. (The comparision is made because FF13 as far as I'm aware took about the same time but failed to deliver in terms of variety, whereas this overachieves on that front.) In my opinion, save for the visuals (which I happily admit is inferior to NFS:HP2) this game is perfect, then again, the visuals are not as bad as people make out, it's a beautiful game, sure not 5yrs beautiful but beautiful where it matters and needs to be. |
When people say a game didn't come close to reaching the hype, I say and who hyped this game? This game was hyped by people who didn't even play racing sims at all. It was hyped so much because in this day of fanboyism and sales and graphics arguments, people picked a side and then said well wait until GT5 comes out. I remember watching gamespots preview and he was talking about unlocking horns and someone wrote in, like horns for your helmet? If you are familiar with GT you would know the answer to that question. Hype is something we create, its not like PD said things that the game would do and didn't deliver. I know there are some features missing but Kaz said at the Madrid party that they are indeed working on implementing all those features and trust me if the game shipped with remote b-spec racing people would still be saying it didn't live up to the hype. It's a racing sim video game. Nothing more, it just seems to me people were expecting them to re-create the wheel or something.
