People are just upset because it doesn't have a boost button or shoots guns, maybe GT6 will feature a Zombie mode. ¬_¬

No people are upset because the game was hyped to infinity and took 6 years to come out, while in the same time Turn 10 put out Forza 2 and and Forza 3 the latter of which is arguably at least on par with GT5 if not better.

It took 5yrs, yes that doesn't make a whole lot of difference but it was people who overhyped it and as a result are disappointed, people never look at things with a level head, they expect sex on a stick and draw their own conclusions and when it doesn't meet their expectations, they call foul play.

I am genuinely serious when I say I've heard people say it fails because it lacks a boost button and guns. As for Forza 2/3, I'll stick to GT5 thanks, whether it's better or whatever is a non-issue for me, what matters is in GT5 I won't get anywhere near the 1000 car marks, nor will I complete A/B spec or the Arcade mode or any of the special challenges or the drift challenges-

Basically what I'm trying to say is, the amount of content and quality in this game is overwhelming.

But if you won't get anywhere near accessing most of the content how is that a plus?  I understand and agree GT5 is great but in terms of quality if it is better than Forza ( and at the moment thats a BIG if ) It sill took them waaay longer to make a bunch of content that 70% of buyers won't even access while Turn 10 put out two huge sims in the same amount of time.  GT5 is excellent, but certainly isn't close to matching the hype in my personal opinion.

Bang for your bucks: In my opinion, these days, games are too quick to finish and lack variety, I want a game that offers me so much content, I need to feel as if I don't need to play anything else because there's a billion and one things to do and doesn't force me to do what it wants me to do.

Right now, I'm trying the Nascar challenges and it's kicking my ass not the other way around. If this had been any other game, I would be stuck here with no other means of progresstion. But now I can set that aside and try my hands at the FR challenge cup or the Rally Championship to name but two of the possibilities open to me right now.

I agree the turnaround time of 5yrs is stellar, but the amount of content is this when you compare to say...Final Fantasy 13 is incompariable. (The comparision is made because FF13 as far as I'm aware took about the same time but failed to deliver in terms of variety, whereas this overachieves on that front.)

In my opinion, save for the visuals (which I happily admit is inferior to NFS:HP2) this game is perfect, then again, the visuals are not as bad as people make out, it's a beautiful game, sure not 5yrs beautiful but beautiful where it matters and needs to be.

When people say a game didn't come close to reaching the hype, I say and who hyped this game? This game was hyped by people who didn't even play racing sims at all. It was hyped so much because in this day of fanboyism and sales and graphics arguments, people picked a side and then said well wait until GT5 comes out. I remember watching gamespots preview and he was talking about unlocking horns and someone wrote in, like horns for your helmet? If you are familiar with GT you would know the answer to that question. Hype is something we create, its not like PD said things that the game would do and didn't deliver. I know there are some features missing but Kaz said at the Madrid party that they are indeed working on implementing all those features and trust me if the game shipped with remote b-spec racing people would still be saying it didn't live up to the hype. It's a racing sim video game. Nothing more, it just seems to me people were expecting them to re-create the wheel or something.
