It's 11:59 P.M. My brother and I are playing Dr. Mario in our basement (on a NES). Mom calls us up to watch the ball drop. Pause. Go upstairs. Happy new year! Hugs and kisses. We go back downstairs and pass Dad, coming upstairs, who missed the ball drop because he was playing Internet chess (his first game of 2008). Unpause at 12:01 A.M. to finish the match and start the new year off right. Later that night I start and finish Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge for the Game Boy.
