38. Beneath a Steel Sky (PC)

This one could be unfamiliar to a lot of people, but it's definitely deserving of a place in my list. BASS is a classic point and click adventure game. The game takes place in Australia in a dystopian future, sometime after some kind of nuclear fallout ravages the Earth. It follows Robert Foster, who was raised in the Australian Outback after a plane crash in his youth. He builds a talking robot called Joey, who has his personality stored on a circuit board meaning you can place him in any kind of robotic device, which you do many times throughout the game. Foster is kidnapped by security forces and returned to civilisation, but he manages to escape after the helicopter he was being transported in crashes, and you are left to discover why the security forces wanted him. I played this after it was made available for free back in 2003, and you can still download it perfectly legally through the ScummVm website.
