I bought a 32'' Philips CRT (32PW9551) recently as the first TV I have owned (since moving from my parents' place).

The reasons for buying a CRT were:

- the main uses for it will be watching DVDs and playing Wii, for which a set which can display 480p natively is the perfect choice
- it has component and HDMI inputs, which means I can connect anything to it (supports up to 720p/1080i).
- it was cheaper than LCDs of comparable size.

If you're a Wii-only gamer, don't mind the size limitations (roughly 32" or under), and have a setup where brightness isn't a factor, you cannot beat a CRT HDTV.
