From what I have read rocketpig is right. Anything below 42" and 720p will be fine.

I would however disagree with the color level argument because while the best plasma on the market probably ranks highest in color level you will tend to find many lcds in the top 5.

According to Cnet. Panasonics top of the line plasma is first in this area. While Sony's Xbr series is second. However, the xbr ranks higher in response time 120mhz with less ghosting and no burn in as many plasmas do.

The problem is that both of these televisions are probably out of your price range...I dont know.


You're right; several LCDs have very good color depth. The thing is that there are more that have poor color depth.

As with almost everything in the HDTV world, everything should be evaluated on a model-by-model basis.
