A post game does take effort. It starts when your young imo. A lot of it has to do with footwork. You don't learn footwork by playing streetball and pickup games. So many players today have terrible footwork. Hakeem "The Dream" was great in part because he had excellent footwork. Can you imagine Blake Griffin with a great post game? If someone with his talent and athleticism develops a baby hook or jump hook he will be almost unstoppable. That shot is nearly impossible to defend without a proper double team. Why don't bigs develop that shot?
"Some of you are thinking that you won't fight. Others, that you can't fight. They all say that, until they're out there."
