This is pathetic and exactly why I don't buy Apple. It will have only been a year since the first I-Pad hit shelves and they are launching another one? I know every rich kid on the block is going to want one heck it even sounds cool to me. But the last one just came out. I know alot of Apple fans who bought the first one will go out and buy the new one, bringing sales higher and higher.

But is it a good investment for the average Canadian or American or European? Its an over sized I-Phone from what I've experianced. I remember seeing a tablet laptop by Acer a few years ago. The keyboard could slip out or you could use the touch screen. Sure the thing cost 1,200$ but it was sure alot more value then this over priced over sized phone.

Personally I'm looking at what Microsoft's going to put out with Windows 7, or the new Google pad. But I'm going to stay far away from the I-Pad. I don't have money to constantly upgrade every year!

Apple main objective as a business is to make money, of course theyre going to release a new version every year, but that doesnt mean you need to buy it every year. Look at the iPod range, same principle they release a new model every year. Currently the Nano is on its sixith iteration, but Im still using my third gen version. Why? Because I have had no need to 'upgrade'. But if theyre are people who are willing to do so every year, dont expect Apple to argue.

It's not even that... if Apple doesn't release a new model every year, they fall behind the competition.

EVERYONE releases a new model at least once a year. To flame Apple for it is downright stupid. You may as well flame every tech company on Earth for upgrading at all. Shit, maybe we should still be using Apple IIe's and Windows 3.1.

My iPhone is two generations old. My Macbook is 15 months old. My desktop is four years (yikes!) old. It's not as if anyone is holding a gun to our heads and forcing us to upgrade every 12 months.
