Darksiders is less GOW-clone and more Zelda-clone the further in you get. If you don't like backtracking and block puzzles in your stylish beatdowns, then avoid.
I've only played the 360 versions, but for the rest I'd say NG2 > CV >>>>> DI. Honestly, if you want a great hack 'n slash, I'd also suggest getting DMC4 on the cheap if you haven't already (it's like $20 new).
