I didn't mean to hate on Final Fantasy or anything (I quited enjoyed FFXIII and FFX) but a lot of people I talk just automatically hate Final Fantasy and think it's meaningless. Probably should've put that in my post.

Well its being made by Eidos, not SE japan, so theres no fear of it being anything like FF imo. however i've seen the trailer and the graphics look very good, the art deco is very cool, almost like 'film noir', reminds me a bit of blade runner. so it could turn out very well.

and this could be good for FF in the end because SE have licensed a new game engine that is based on what was used for this game, so its a good collaboration all round imo.

*NOTE AT EVERYONE INCLUDING DARTH. As far as I know no one atleast significant from the original team (ION STORM) is involved in making it . (They have had coversations with Warren Spector and some of the original team, but that's as far as it goes).  They're as green as SE is with Deus Ex (atleast at the start).. except that they've made Western Games and Deus Ex is clearly a western game.


But atleast what's been said in articles is the amount of time they've spent analyzing what made the first one great, and it's flaws is promising. And so far its been showing in trailers. And obvoiusly I'm really excited about this.

@A230D if you haven't played, the first one you really should. Though it might be a bit outdated in some elements. THe shooting elements are a bit clunky and outdated. era 2000 VA's. But it's gameplay is really something no or not many games have touched since as the amount of choice you have to approach each situation (Stealth, attack, interrogation/talking) is more than most games.. With awesome story elements... and the dialogue wheel before the dialogue wheel... only its not wheel and you can read what you are gonna say. :P

It's one of the best games ever made IMO, better than every game, except 1 FF for me.

Yeah, i already know, i have a friend whos crazy about the original one. but sadly he used to talk about it too much i already know the story of it, and the depth of the world/conversations is said to be immense. i would give it a try but theres so many new games i want to play, and i dont even have time for some of the games i've recently bought, but i'll look foward to the new one!!!

Edit: the developers seem to be handling it well, by contacting the original staff and the dark deco style looks very cool so i'm sure it will be a success, because you can see they've put a lot of effort into it.
