larry, Not true. Sony CE lost only ¥51 billion in fiscal 2000 (Annual Report of 2001), the first year of the PS2 era. MS losses are as you described, but don't matter here because the Xbox is not a successful business Sony should copy. |
but this time they would have to recover the high R&D of Cell as well.
last time in 2000 it was just the inclusion of dvd player that contributed to the losses.
However since the ps3 PP has already gone below the breakevn point losses would be reduced no doubt.
plus you have big games coming up this year from june and also during christmas.
