A guy was arrested a few months ago in the U.S. for possessing manga that depicted acts of child pornography. He pled guilty and didn't have to register as a sex offender or anything life-destroying like that.
But yeah, it's quite silly to be arrested over things that aren't real. I get it when people get in trouble for having real child pornography on their computers, because a child had to be engaged in sexual acts for that to exist, and possessing it only encourages it. However, manga/fan art of underaged characters, some of which may not even have a specified age, is nothing to arrest anyone over since there really is no victim. In any case, I'd rather have the weirdos fapping to drawings than the real thing or attempting to go further than that.
