So I guess we shouldn't "blindly" listen to MS on Kinect's numbers. Should we have ignored Nintendo when they put out numbers last month? The ones to trust are MS, Sony, & Nintendo.

You're missing the point. There's a difference between releasing numbers and saying something like "this is a success/flop". One is based on facts (shipping numbers/sales tracker numbers, etc.) while the other is based off of nothing besides what the company expects/or what they changed their expectations to. I'm saying you shouldn't blindly trust the latter.
