Assassins Creed is the biggest new franchise this generation (HD) so that cant be a possibility. Uncharted is already one of the most popular and well recieved PS3 exlusives too.
I doubt itd be Crysis because i just doubt itd be a FPS at all, itd be something fresh and new like how FF7 was something completley different from the usual platforming games US was used to, same reason why Pokemon struck gold GBA games were simple 2D platformers or Tetris Pokemon had more depth that games even now.
COD4 i guess you could say there was already Halo but still.

Mostly this, Online didnt get all that popular until 2006/2007, COD4 came out and pretty much perfected Online early on and got everybody while the online craze was starting. If for next gen theres something else that can be as innovative as Online and a good game comes out making the best out of it then thatll be the one to break out.

Id love that but it seems Final Fantasy is on its way out, ever since FFX the games have never been all that great.
