| Darth Tigris said: Since this thread seems to have derailed into a "why isn't the 360 selling in Japan" discussion, let me put my take on it that could (but likely won't) shed some light. There are two likely reasons why the 360 hasn't caught on in Japan. 1) The publishers of the largest 3rd party game franchises in Japan did NOT commit to putting those games the 360. For example, S-E brought out FFXI while the PS3 was announced as getting multiple FFXIII games. Those publishers had little faith in the 360, so why would Japanese gamers? 2) Western games, in the minds of Japanese gamers, have always been and still are inferior to Japanese games. Xbox represents Western games to them, even though there are plenty of Japanese appealing quality titles on the console too. That stigma remains. |
That could very well be true to some extent, but to flat out say that Microsoft is struggling in Japan because they're an American company and that the Japanese are xenophobic is what's pissing me off, because it's not true. It's not derailing the thread, read the OP and what he said.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
