Like Rubang just said, not a single publisher besides nintendo has pulled off 20 million on a single platform, just because you want to see it happen doesn't mean it will. My point stands, he asked how will kinect sell that much and not pull off 20 million and i pointed out to him the many other games that have sold extremely well out the gate and fizzled off like most 360 games. You want two more MW2(360) and soon Black ops(360), so the biggest openings in history clearly don't garuantee long term success.

You just completely ignored his answer, Kinect isn't a game, it won't follow the same sales pattern, and it won't be trated like one.

There isn't some magically barrier on 20 million units only Nintendo can pass, such a horrible elitiest view.

Yes there is.  It is magic, invisible, and it stopped San Andreas at 18.53.  Nobody can even hit 19 million.  Nintendo has a 1 million safety buffer before their magic barrier.  Other developers have had the entire history of video games to try to sneak through this barrier.  They have failed.

What do you think makes more sense?

1) The barrier is too powerful for other developers.
2) There is no barrier, but other developers just can't make 20 million sales because they're incapable of making games with that global appeal and those long term sales.  So they focus on huge first weeks.

If you don't believe in the magic barrier, you're basically trolling every company that isn't Nintendo.

I'm not in the mood for this kind of discussion Rubang.

Kinect has global appeal (barring Japan) Kinect targets the exact same audience as Wii does, and if that can get to 100 million, it's just petty to think Kinect can't get to a 1/5 of that. You havn't really come up with any solid reasons other than Kinect is an add on (despite that not mattering in terms of the audience it's targetting) and Nintendo being the only ones to pass this magical 20 mill barrier.
