None of them. The whole reason they work is because they're long.

Spending 30 hours with a character is a big part of why I felt for them. The numerous moments of small talk exchange between the characters while listening to the subtle town music. Controling them in battle, so you feel like their vitory is somehow your victory.

If FF plots were reduced to their bare essentials (meaning the story would only contain what's absolutely necessary to move it foward), they wouldn't be as effective.

In movies, you have 2 hours to introduce a character, explain their story, develop them and make you care about what they've gone through. You can't do that with small talk and quiet, subtle music. You gotta have bullet points.

FF plots, like most video games', are not suitable for the big screen.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!
