Eyetoy was indeed at a superior caliber, imo, because what matters at the end, its not how high tech it is but the games.
And the Eyetoy games, so far, are better than kinect. (I don't mean like, right now, but in review history, Eyetoy was better back in the time than kinect is nowadays)

20 games, is that seriously all eyetoy came out with? Kinect will have more than 20 by the end of this month ........
There are already 4 games 70 plus on Kinect, and that was launch day games. Not that I see why that matters, again, really clutching at straws here.
