i watched this time team programme in england not so long ago about how the vikings were not all about rape and pillage of course they did their fair share of bashing up the locals and gorging themselves on our lovely ladies but they also settled down and made good,traded,settled in and merged,if you look at alot of old churches it has all the symbols of norse,celtic,saxon,christian etc
they also got their asses kicked a fair bit aswell going too far south,one story they had where a horde of naughty vikings on the rampage for loot and busty maidens they ran into a spot of trouble where they all ended up decapitated and dumped in a pit at the town gates, ahh good times
the time team dug up all the skeletons,they like doing that sort of stuff
