Right people should be allowed to hold whatever beliefs they have. It doesn't mean we can't think of them as despicable people though. As for what should be done? Education and integration are our only hope. People are less likely to be racist when they are raised around people of other races. It's really the only solution that makes sense biologically. Humans are wired to have a tribal mindset. We make first time character judgements based looks before we get to know a person, if the person looks like you or your family, you're more likely to trust them.

Nigger is just a word you should not hurt people for using certain words, freedom of speech and all that. If someone insults a black man by calling him a nigger and the black man physically attacks the other person back and the black man was not provoked in any other way then the Black man is at much greater fault than the person who insulted him.
You know I would have to disagree with you on who provoked whom, my guess is that you've never been the brunt of a racial attack. But the fact that so many black people use the word nigger so often makes it partially their own fault for getting called that. You want a word to die you stop using it.

That word is never going to go away whether black people use it or not. So how is it black people's fault? Black people didn't even come up with that word to start with.
Also, how is the black man at greater fault when the incident of assault would have never occured had the person dishing the insult kept their mouth shut? Not saying assault is the solution, but if you insult a person with a racial slur and get beat down, don't be surprised by the consequences. This is like defending a porn star who goes on Ghetto Gaggers, gets degraded, then placing the blame on the guys who degraded her because she wasn't aware of the criteria involved. No it's her fault for making a poor decision in life, just as it's the racist person's fault for making a horrible decision.

But are the targets ready for the consequences when they deliver the assault? Don't get me wrong, i believe more than anything that all a person needs sometimes is a good asskicking, but your only looking at short term satisfaction. Say this mail man did beat her, or even if it was another man. The mail-man would be arrested because he resorted to physical violence, and all people would really get out of it is: "Man, blacks are so violent, ya that white guy is racist, but at least he didn't hit the guy"
