umh GT owners are gonna have so much fun with 1031 cars.................... I hope for you guys that you don't have to try all cars before you can enter the GT mode 
(my point being this is ridiculous and brings nothing to the game players would have had just as much fun with 1/10th the cars (and even more fun as the game would have been out a hell of a lot sooner))

For many, this does add to the game. Earning cars and having choice, that adds to the experience. May not be for you, doesn't mean it adds nothing.

true, but the ones who will enjoy all these cars are unfortunately exponentially proportional in number as the number of cars. I doubt even you try all the cars in the game, but by all means if you have fun doing it please do (I myself spent about 1000 hours on the first zelda, so I surely understand the obsessive fun one can have with a game).
