I don't trust that poll, but of course if can become an issue. Take London, a huge percentage of the houses are Victorian terranced houses with narrow living rooms of 11 feet to 13 feet in size, empty. Put in a couch, factor in clear space for the door entryway, add a coffee table and suddenly the distance from TV to edge of coffe table is 3 feet with 6 feet to the couch from the TV.
I think the jury is out on how much of an issue it might really be, but if a majority of the Kinect coop experience requires 8 feet of truly clear space it could easily be an issue for many houses/regions.
Now, that's not to say Move/Wii are off the hook - but by their nature they are more forgiving and as they don't focus on the whole body they are happy to work essentially over any coffee table, etc. to where you might be standing.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
