MIcrosoft screwed themselves by putting out terrible phones for ten years and coming into a market where Android has stormed to the top and iPhone is strong as ever. If they released 7 a year ago, it would have been much bigger news. At this point, they're entering what has become a crowded market, which is too bad because their new OS looks pretty fantastic. Unlike 6.5, which was a steaming pile of shit. Actually, so was 6... and 5... and 4...
They have a long uphill battle in front of them but before they even make a dent in the market, they need to stop playing catch-up. They've been behind at least one major competitor since they started making mobile OSes. First it was Palm, then Blackberry, then iPhone... now it's ALL of those companies AND Android.
