I got a Droid 2 that came pre-installed with 2.2 and I couldn't really find anything that blew away my co-workers who still had 2.1. Of course, they all got updates, recently (and I think my phone got an update a few days ago). So I say go with the Android even if it's just 2.1. You'll have a hard time spotting the upgrades--or at least I did.
